North Idaho Family Physicians and Kootenai Health have partnered to provide urgent care services, forming Kootenai Urgent Care. This is an equal partnership that will help both organizations deliver quality, cost-effective, coordinated care to the community. This partnership is consistent with the trend toward delivering medical services through more integrated healthcare systems. It also ensures continued local ownership and will help Kootenai Urgent Care remain responsive to community needs.

Kootenai Urgent Care's services will continue to complement the services provided by primary care physicians in the community. This includes helping patients who need care but do not require an emergency room visit, and cannot access their primary care physician.

Kootenai Urgent Care will continue to coordinate efforts with Kootenai Occupational Medicine to provide on-the-job injury care, case management of claims, employment physicals and drug testing.
